Student's visas

If you wish to study any course in Australia for longer than three months you must first apply for a student visa. This applies to full-time study of recognized courses such as in a university or college. Courses of study shorter than three months can be completed on a visitor's visa.

Australia has many world class universities, technical and vocational colleges that are looked on favorably by employers, and Australian institutions are generally among the quickest in the world to adopt and embrace new technologies. Your future employer may also value your travel experience and familiarity with other cultures as a great asset in this new global economy.

Some 200,000 international students coming from about 190 different countries study in Australia each year, so you're sure to have plenty of company. You are also allowed to work up to 20 hours per week while getting your education.
